Serene Tide didn't start as a product. It started as a book, a 171-page emotional handbook written by a woman who became a mother and couldn't find anything that fit what she was feeling.
Anxious before every exam. Overwhelmed by decisions everyone else seemed to find simple. Lonely in rooms full of people. Sad without a reason I could point to.
I tried the things I was meant to try. Therapy felt too big for what I was carrying. I wasn't in crisis, just adrift. Wellness apps wanted streaks and breathwork timers from someone who, on the hard days, couldn't get out of bed. Chatbots wanted me to keep replying.
What I needed was a map. A way to look at the storm and say this is what this is called, here are the others who have felt it, here is one small thing to try.
So I wrote one. The Emotions Explorer, a 171-page handbook of situations, emotions, stories, and activities, because I needed it to exist. Then I built Serene Tide, because the world needed more than my one copy.

"Every mother who feels too much and says too little deserves a map. Serene Tide is that map."
What we hold to when product decisions get hard.
The founder, our advisors, and our community panel have all lived the experience we're building for. We design from the inside out.
No notifications. No streaks. No optimisation for engagement. The app moves at the speed of the mother, not the algorithm.
Reviewed by counsellors, postnatal specialists, and perinatal mental health professionals. Not a clinical tool, but built next to people who know what one looks like.
The data model came second. The privacy promises came first. Coaches never see raw journal entries, and you can delete everything in one tap.
Before any code, there was a 171-page handbook. 15 emotions, each with their own situations, stories, and grounding activities. 90 distinct paths a reader could take depending on what was true that day.
The book is still the foundation. Every Gem in the app, every story and activity and gentle reminder, comes from a page that someone, somewhere, sat down and wrote because they wished it had existed for them.
Built by people who've lived it. Guided by people who know it.
